Case Types AssaultsFights break out in sporting events, bars, schools and almost any place else people gather. Sometimes the location of the fight owes a duty to protect you from being injured. Whenever a venue fails to provide adequate security to prevent fights or violent assaults, that venue should be held responsible for failing to protect you and the injuries you received. Unfortunately, private individuals often do not have the resources to compensate you for injuries they cause when they assault you. If they are prosecuted criminally for the attack, you may be eligible for assistance from the Crime Victims’ Fund, or to have the prosecutor seek restitution (payment as a condition of a finding of guilt) for your injuries. If you or someone you know was attacked, or injured in a violent assault, I urge you to seek the advice of an attorney who has investigated inadequate security cases in the past, or who has worked with a prosecutor’s office before to seek restitution on your behalf. I have worked these types of cases, and would be glad to assist you. Submit your case to me for review, or call 817-803-3898.
